What is Stephen Ministry?
Using the curriculum of Stephen Ministries, members of our church body are trained and equipped to walk alongside individuals going through big life challenges like grief, divorce, a medical crisis, job loss, and more. Our Stephen Ministry leaders will offer care, support, and encouragement, connecting hurting people with Christ’s healing love during some of the hardest times in their lives.
“Stephen Ministers” are often called the After People. Ready to come alongside you, your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives and provide comfort and support for as long after as needed. That is the love and service our Stephen Ministry Leaders will be trained to provide to our community.

Being a Stephen Ministry Leader is not meant to replace Pastoral Care or offer professional counseling. SM Leaders are trained to listen to, care for, and walk with those going through difficult times in life.

Want to become a Stephen Ministry Leader?
If you feel like God might be calling you to become a Stephen Ministry Leader, we encourage you to fill out an application. Once reviewed and approved, you can begin the 26-week training course using the Stephen Ministries curriculum.
Stephen Ministries is a not-for-profit Christian education organization founded in 1975 that produces training and resources known for their excellence, practicality, psychological integrity, and theological depth. These resources cover topics such as caring ministry, assertive relating, spiritual gifts discovery, grief support, spiritual growth, and more.
Congregations and other organizations use these resources to strengthen and expand ministry. Individuals use them to improve their ability to relate to and care for others, grow in faith, and journey through life crises. Their staff are based in St. Louis, Missouri.
