Giving And Stewardship
God is full of grace and generosity. We believe all we have is from God. His Word clearly tells us that “every good and perfect gift” comes from God. (James 5:17)
Giving (or stewardship) is a ‘grace cycle’. God gives all things, we receive His provision, and so, Grace-giving is what God intends for His people. Freely we have received, so freely we give. (Matthew 10:8) As the recipients of God’s incredible generosity, we are called to steward every resource for His glory. This is true about all of the Christian life and seen throughout the Bible.
Therefore, we desire to be intentionally generous with our lives, including our time, talents, testimonies, and treasures.
This specifically includes our financial giving. Financial stewardship is a form of worship and reflects our trust in God. As we mature in Christ, God desires for us to grow in our trust in Him; especially with our finances.
2 Corinthians 8:7 tells us, “but as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you[c]—see that you excel in this act of grace [GIVING] also.”
Before you give, seek the Lord and follow His leading. We encourage you to be an intentional steward of all God has given you. As you do, remember this Biblical principle found in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8.
“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. ”
